How to take nothing personally

  1. It was never about you.

    What everyone says or does is a reflection of themselves. Their issues and wants impact their decisions.

  2. Know your worth.

    You won’t care what other people think about you, when you like who you are. Work on self confidence and self love. For example, journal, do shadow work or say affirmations.

  3. Your triggers.

    Find out what you are mostly sensitive about and what triggers your emotions. If someone ever mentions them, you can be prepared. Make sure you take your time before responding.

  4. Assumptions.

    Misunderstandings happen everyday. Someone may take something personal, because they misunderstood what someone was saying, which immediately leads to all kinds of assumptions. Try to catch yourself the next time before that happens and ask the person directly.

  5. Keep yourself busy.

    It is true that when you have a lot to do you do not have time to think as much as you do when you are free. Keep an eye out that you do not burnout.
