How to not lose yourself in relationships

  • Participate in hobbies without our partner/loved ones.

  • retaining our sense of self, not allowing our individuality to become completely erased.

  • Find a balance between focussing on our needs as well as the needs of the relationship.

  • However, that does not mean you must betray yourself e.g. do something you know you inherently cannot or do not want to do/be to make them happy.

  • Maintain your social network.

  • Make them aware of your needs and voice any concerns - even if it may result in a potentially difficult conversation.

  • Take time to reflect independently - listen to your gut instinct and ask yourself truthfully how you are finding the relationship at present.

  • Remember you are more than your romantic relationships. You are worthy with or without them.
